A training workshop was conducted recently by Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) for officials of the Bope Poddala Pradeshiya Saba (PS) to improve the efficiency and the quality of the services and enhance people’s participation in its activities.
Training was conducted in Mega Garden Beligaha with the participation of the entire staff members . Chairman of Bope Poddala Pradeshiya Sabha,G. C.S.Madugoda also attended.
Folllowing a discussion, it was decided to include principles good governance in the day to day activities to improve service delivery. Further, it was agreed to invite the public for the budget discussions and the staff themselves prepared a structure to achieve this step by step.
Former Secretary to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, Piyatissa Ranasinghe, former Secretary to the Ministry of Trade and Executive Director of TISL, S. Ranugge and TISL Manager – Local Governance, Ananda Jayasekara conducted the training sessions.
