Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) has filed a Right to Information request calling on the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) to release the names of the products that have received SLSI approval which carry harmful (carcinogenic) substances.
TISL has also called on the SLSI to release the list of companies producing the said products as well as the reason behind the SLSI’s decision to grant approvals to the products containing harmful materials.
TISL had also requested for a copy of the urgent report of SLSI on the standard of the food products and the companies that produce and import those products, reportedly prepared to be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office.

තවදුරටත්, TISL ආයතනය ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රමිති ආයතනයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියේ, අදාල ආයතනයන් හි නාමලේඛනයද එමෙන්ම හානිකර ද්‍රව්‍ය අඩංගු නිෂ්පාදනයන් සඳහා අනුමැතිය ලබා දීමේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රමිති ආයතනයේ තීරණයන්ට පදනම් වූ හේතු කාරණා ද ප්‍රසිද්ධියට පත් කරන ලෙසයි.
ආහාර නිෂ්පාදනයන් ,එම නිෂ්පාදනයන් සිදු කරන සහ ආනයනය කරන ආයතනයන් හි ප්‍රමිතිය පිළිබඳව අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය කාර්යාලයට සැපයීම සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රමිති ආයතනය විසින් සකස් කර ඇති හදිසි වාර්තාවෙහි පිටපතක් ද ලබා දෙන මෙන් TISL ආයතනය ඉල්ලා සිටියා.
ட்ரான்ஸ்பேரன்சி இன்டர்நெஷனல் ஸ்ரீலங்கா (TISL) நிறுவனம் இலங்கை தர கட்டளைகள் நிறுவனத்திடம் (SLSI) தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும் (புற்றுநோயியல்) பதார்த்தங்களை கொண்டுள்ள SLSI அமைப்பின் ஒப்புதல் பெற்ற தயாரிப்புகளின் பெயர்களை வெளியிடுமாறு தகவலுக்கான விண்ணப்பத்தை சமர்ப்பித்துள்ளது.
மேலும் தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும் பொருள்களைக் கொண்ட தயாரிப்புகளுக்கு அனுமதி வழங்குவதற்கு SLSI முடிவெடுத்ததன் பின்னணியில் உள்ள காரணங்களையும், அந்த தயாரிப்புகளை உற்பத்தி செய்யும் நிறுவனங்களின் பட்டியலையும் வெளியிடுமாறு TISL நிறுவனம் வேண்டுகோள் விடுத்துள்ளது.
பிரதமர் அலுவலகத்தில் சமர்ப்பிக்கத் தயாராக இருப்பதாகக் கூறப்படும் உணவுப் பொருட்களின் தரம் மற்றும் அந்த தயாரிப்புகளை உற்பத்தி செய்து இறக்குமதி செய்யும் நிறுவனங்கள் குறித்த SLSI யின் அவசர அறிக்கையின் பிரதியையும் TISL நிறுவனம் கோரியுள்ளது.
