TISL urges public to advocate for action on 2011 COPE Report
Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) recommends that the meetings of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) should be open to the media, and civil society should be consulted in the process of reviewing public enterprises to actively encourage transparency in its operations.
TISL further recommends that public at large should contact their Members of Parliament and request that the contents of the COPE report be followed up with further investigations and meaningful sanctions.
TISL has made these recommendations in a Position Paper on the 2011 COPE Report to improve the performance of Government enterprises through increased transparency and accountability
