Transparency International Sri Lanka recently held a panel discussion on “Corporate Governance and its Role in Preventing Corruption” at Mandarina Hotel, Colombo 03.
The esteemed panelists included Lakshmanan Jayakumar, Attorney at Law, Asanga Munaweera, Group Chief of Risk and Compliance and Head of Sustainability at Dialog Axiata PLC, Nilupa Perera, Senior Vice President, Broker Supervision and Listed Entity Compliance, Colombo Stock Exchange, and Averil Ludowyke, Independent Non-Executive Director.
The session was moderated by Nadishani Perera, Executive Director, TISL. In this engaging discussion, the basics of Corporate Governance and how it can be used to prevent corruption were explained by the panelists. They also expressed their views on improving the legal framework pertaining to Corporate Governance and the challenges in enforcing them.
Speaking on promoting a culture of integrity and transparency in Sri Lankan businesses, the panelists elaborated on the local and global best practices and future trends related to Corporate Governance.
The event saw the attendance of about 35 participants from the corporate sector.

“ආයතනික පාලනය සහ දූෂණය වැළැක්වීමට ඒ හරහා කෙරෙන කාර්යභාරය” යන මැයෙන් ට්‍රාන්ස්පේරන්සි ඉන්ටනැෂනල් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයතනය (TISL) විසින් සංවිධානය කළ සංවාද මණ්ඩපයක් පසුගියදා කොළඹ මැන්ඩරිනා හෝටලයේදී පවත්වන ලදී.
මෙම විද්වත් කතිකාව සඳහා නීතීඥ ලක්ෂ්මන් ජයකුමාර්, ඩයලොග් සමාගමේ තිරසාර අංශ ප්‍රධානී සහ අවදානම් සහ අනුකූලතා පිළිබඳ සමූහ ප්‍රධානී අසංග මුණවීර, තැරැව්කරුවන් අධීක්ෂණය සහ ලැයිස්තුගත ආයතන අනුකූලතාව පිළිබඳ කොළඹ කොටස් වෙළඳපොළේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ උප සභාපති නිලූපා පෙරේරා සහ ස්වාධීන සහ විධායක නොවන අධ්‍යක්ෂිකා ඇව්‍රෙල් ලුඩ්වික් සහභාගී විය.
TISL ආයතනයෙහි විධායක අධ්‍යක්ෂිකා නදීෂානි පෙරේරා විසින් මෙම සාකච්ඡා මණ්ඩපය මෙහෙයවන ලදී. ආයතනික පාලනයේ මූලික කරුණු සහ එය දූෂණය වැළැක්වීම සඳහා භාවිතා කළ හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳව විද්වත් මණ්ඩලය විසින් මෙහිදී පැහැදිලි කරන ලදී. ආයතනික පාලනයට අදාළ නෛතික රාමුව වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම සහ එය ක්‍රියාවට නැංවීමේදී මුහුණ දෙන අභියෝග පිළිබඳව ද ඔවුහු සිය අදහස් පළ කළහ.
ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය ව්‍යාපාරවල සුපිළිපන්නභාවය සහ විනිවිදභාවය සහිත සංස්කෘතියක් ප්‍රවර්ධනය කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් විද්වත් මණ්ඩලය විසින් කරුණු දැක්වූ අතර, ආයතනික පාලනයට අදාළව දේශීයව හා ගෝලීයව පවතින ආදර්ශමත් භාවිතයන් සහ අනාගත ප්‍රවණතා පිළිබඳව ඔවුන් පැහැදිලි කරන ලදී.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට පුද්ගලික අංශය නියෝජනය කරමින් 35 දෙනෙකු පමණ සහභාගී විය.
