Much enthusiasm to create a corrupt-free country

The keen interest shown by people living in and around Kalmunai, Attalachenai and Akkaraipattu in the Eastern Province in building a country without corruption was clearly evident at the exhibitions and People’s Platforms jointly organized by the Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) and the relevant Divisional Secretariats recently.

The enthusiasm shown by the People to mark their presence on the signature wall which was titled ‘We are committed for a corruption-free country’ was significant.

Most of them who came to witness the exhibition signed the signature wall after studying the material displayed in the TISL exhibition stall. The two Divisonal Secretaries were the first persons to sign the wall. They were followed by other government officials.

More than 2500 people signed and pledged to work towards freeing the country from corruption.
