The Government has removed secretary to the Ministry of Export Development and International Trade Ministry with immediate effect.
S.Ranugge a senior civil servant of the country was asked to vacate the secretary position and report to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home affairs by secretary to the President.
According to a spokesman of the Government he was charged with making a statement to the public without getting a prior approval.
Few weeks back Ranugge has said to the media obtaining GSP tax concession for next period will be very unlikely.
