Around 50 provincial public officials in the Tamankaduwa Divisional Secretariat Division attended a workshop on land related issues organized by TISL in collaboration with the European Union (EU) on 14 July 2011.
Officers attached to the Land Unit, colonization officers and grama niladharis were among the officials who attended the prgogamme held at the Tamankaduwa Divisional Secretariat office. Kirthi Gamage, former Land Commissioner – North Central Province and E M M Ekanayaka, Deputy Land Commissioner of Anuradhapura District conducted the training sessions.
Issues related to Land Ordinance and land certificates were discussed. The officials identified nearly 50 common issues which formed the basis of the training prorgamme. Emphasis wass on how these issues can be handled with the least possible delay.
Among those present were Nimal Abeysiri, District Secretary, Polonnaruwa and Deepal Ekanayaka, Divisional Secretary, Tamankaduwa. TISL was represented by Gayan Liyanage, Programme co-ordinator, Anuradhapura & Polonnaruwa Districts and Dilshan Weerasinghe.
