Referring to the outrage express by the Election commissioner with respect to the flagrant violation of Election laws by the political parties, The Election monitors pledged their fullest support to the Election Commissioner to hold free and fair Presidential Election.
This was stated at a press conference that was held by the election monitors of the Presidential Election 2010. Rohana Hettiarachchi of PAFFREL, J.C. Weliamuna PPPR, Keerthi Tennekoon of CAFFE, Dr. P. Saravanmuttu and Udaya Kalupathirana of CMEV addressed this press conference at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo on 13.01.2010. The monitors also urged the people to stand by the Election Commissioner to uphold the integrity of the electoral process at a stage where the political parties are flouting the election law with impunity.
