Vacancy – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) is a National Chapter of Transparency International (TI), the leading global movement against corruption. TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

TISL is seeking applications from dynamic and committed professionals who can navigate challenges & crises with resilience and strategic problem solving, whilst being sensitive to Sri Lanka’s diverse cultural context, to head its operations based in Colombo. Reporting directly to the Board, the Executive Director will have a results-based leadership role , with overall responsibility in respect of the following:

  • Providing Visionary Leadership and Strategic Direction for the Organization
  • Program Planning, Coordination and Implementation
  • Fundraising
  • Maintaining Stakeholder Relationships and liaising with external parties, representing TISL
  • Financial and Risk Management, Human Resources Management and Administration
  • Accountability and Ethical Responsibility for all Organizational Activities

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS:

  • A Degree in Law, Economics, Social Sciences or a relevant subject, or an equivalent qualification. Post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience, with proven managerial capacity and a track record of dealing with senior government officials, civil society organizations and other non-state actors
  • An extremely high level of integrity and an unblemished track record
  • The ability to inspire communities to embrace TISL’s core values ( Transparency & Accountability • Integrity • Human Dignity & Respect • Equality and Humility • Professionalism)
  • Adequate Knowledge and Practical Experience of Governance Assessments, Advocacy and Outreach Programs
  • Creative and Outstanding Leadership qualities
  • Experience in Fundraising and Project Management
  • Knowledge and experience in mainstreaming gender into all aspects of the work of TISL.
  • Communication skills and media engagement experience with an ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders in national and international environments and an excellent command of English and Sinhala /Tamil Languages.
  • Established working relationships with key stakeholders built over the years.
