The Bribery and Corruption Commission has decided to recruit a new investigations team made of professionals.
Director General of the Commission Lakshmi Wijewickrama said the investigations team will comprise of administrative officers, assessors and engineers.
She said the objective of the move is to make the raids carried out by the commission more efficient and to secure the independence of the commission.
The Director General added that these officers will have the ability to carry out raids at locations that are difficult for police officers to reach.
