Transparency International Sri Lanka conducted a 2 day Training workshop for staff members of the Ambalangoda Urban Council (UC) recently to redesign and reconstitute the departments and finalize the officers required for each department.
Over 43 staff members participated in the training held in Management Development Training Institute, Southern Provincial Council, Wackwella, and Galle. Mayor of Ambalangoda UC Aruna Pradeep and M.Sunil, the Secretary of Ambalangoda UC were also present.
In addition Management Committee was formulated under the leadership of the Mayor. Further, action plans were developed for collection of arrears; Record room development, new revenue scheme, and o systemize the staff loan scheme. In addition to which team building exercises were also carried out.
Former Permanent Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications Piyatissa Ranasinghe conducted the sessions as the main resource person. Ananda Jayasekara and Dilshan Weerasinghe represented TISL.
