Div. Secs, GS lead in complaints

Among the public servants the most number of complaints received were against Divisional Scretaries and Grama Niladaris (Village Officers), the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry said.

The ministry said that after investigating 115 complaints by its investigation unit, charge sheets had been sent to 73 who comprise Divisional Secretaries and Grama Niladaris.

Out of them disciplinary action had been taken against 33 of them.

Apart from them charge sheets had been sent to three District Secretaries, six accountants, five Technical Officers, three engineers and four management assistants.

The total number of complaints received by the ministry investigation unit is 584.

The telephone number 1905 has been introduced for the public to lodge complaints against public servants.
