The two UNP members who were to take oaths on 06th Tuesday couldn’t do so as it was not included in the order paper of the Parliament session.
Anura Gopallawa and D.M. Bandaranayake were being named as the two new MP’s according to the gazette notification issued by the Election Commissioner few days ago.
Meanwhile Opposition and UNP leader Ranil Wickramasingha criticized Speaker W.J.M Lokubandara in Parliament for failing to respond to letters sent by him on two new UNP members who were to take oaths on the 06th.
However responding to this, Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva said Parliament was convened today to extend the emergency and not for any other matter.
