Two brand new power set engines, purchased by the Railway Department from Singapore at a cost of 748,895 Euros recently, were found to have been second hand during a subsequent trial run, the Organisation for Protection of the Properties and the Rights of Railway Employees said in a statement yesterday.
In local currency, the cost is estimated at Rs. 140 million.
