Several Public enterprises have incurred big losses because they have failed to consult the Attorney General Department when they were faced with difficulties in legal matters according to The Committee on Public Enterprises.
Large sums of money owed to several enterprises have not been recovered due partly to failure in consulting Attorney Generals Department on legal matters said COPE in its report presented to the Parliament.
Even large public enterprises were found to have missed the opportunity of getting legal advice before taking important decisions and have incurred losses report has said.
This was happened because legal departments are not adequately competent to tackle the situations.
To overcome this failure COPE has strongly recommended the public enterprises to seek the services of the Attorney General when confronted with important legal decisions.
