Dompe Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Milan Jayatillake and a member of the PS, Ajith Sisira Kumara were arrested yesterday by sleuths from Commission to Investigate Allegations against Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), in the act of accepting a bribe of Rs. 400,000 from a businessman as a gratification to approve a building plan. The arrests were made at the Pradeshiya Sabha office.
According to the CIABOC, the suspects had solicited a bribe of seven million rupees.
They were to be produced before Court following interrogation.
